A new company aiming to revolutionise orthodontics with AI-powered, sustainable, 3D-printed clear aligners has been backed by Yorkshire AI Labs, a firm co-founded by technology entrepreneur and former WANdisco chief executive David Richards.
PureAlign has developed AI technology that uses deep neural networks to analyse the scans, predict the movement of each tooth, generate their target positions and create the corresponding series of clear aligners for direct production without manufacturing models.Â
The company is led by executive directors and founders Joe Leek and Will Wraithwood, who have a background in commercial dental laboratories.
Yorkshire AI Labs is a new venture capital vehicle based in Sheffield, launched with an initial fund of £10m.
